What we done this week in the modern learning environment.

This week has been different because Totara hub is going in one room for modern learning.

I enjoy getting to know new people and its fun because you get to do fun activity's like genius hour, blogging, fitness, weighing things for maths and writing about your holiday.

Thanks Mrs Milne, Mrs Hardaker and Mr Ford for helping out three home learning classes. All three home learning classes enjoy having you as our teachers.

Art blurb

My artwork is of a tui (my house at school). The korus represent each person in my family (my sister, mum, me and my dad ). My graceful bird is nestled on a branch amongst trees waiting to sing. The trees are covered with bright red berries and green flax.

Art with Mr.Cooper

This week I enjoyed Art with Mr. Cooper.

Half of the class traced a bird while the other half was tinting and shading. We also drew koro patterns inside the bird. Tinting means making the colour lighter and shading means making the colour darker.

I have traced a kiwi and the background has hills and bushes.

Art in room 18

Yesterday in Room 18 we were did art with Mr. Cooper.

There are 4 different birds. They were Keas, Kiwis, Kahus and Kererus.

Week 2, Term 3 - Similes

This week I enjoyed our homework because it was fun and a little hard. The reason it was hard because I forgot how to write a simile. The reason why it was fun because I then found loads of fantastic and funny similes.  I'll be able to use them in my writing now. Similes are when you compare something using the words 'like' or 'as'.

This week I am proud of me giving the inference questions a go in Reading. They are tricky!

Next week I want to work on writing because sometimes it takes me a while to think about what to write.

  

Week 4

This week we have been learning to write an argument. 

We are trying to persuade the Regional Council not to build a Countdown on Paki's Paddock.

One reason why we are trying to persuade the Regional Council is because of safety reasons.  Another reason is because if there is lots of noise then then children will not learn.

Catapults

This is me and my best friend Kasaiyah. We made a marshmallow catapult together . We both loved making the marshmallow catapults. It was funny watching our marshmallows flying. We are going to use these for maths like measurement and subtraction. Everyone  in Room 18 got to make one.

Reflection Week 7

This week I enjoyed writing because we did research about an animal we chose to learn about.

This week I am proud because I finished my homework on time.

Next week I want to continue to work on, and complete, my homework because it is fun.

If I could have any pet in the world I would choose a horse because if my dad could not be bothered taking me to Kmart or The Warehouse I ride my horse there.

 This week I have enjoyed free writing.

This week I have been proud of Henry for getting 4 sports certificates and a Pride Award.

1. This week I mostly enjoyed maths because we go to do timetables plus play with play dough.

Yesterday me and my buddy made a Venn Diagram.My buddy's name is Neesha. We both like candy,the color blue,dancing,pancakes and animals. Neesha and I are both eight year's old and we both like school. We are best buddy's! 

At Parkvale School we show PRIDE. The P stands for Personal Best, the R stands for Respect & Responsibility, the I stands for Integrity, the D stands for Determination and last but not least, the E stands for Enjoyment.
